Healthy Ways to Improving Your Mental Health

1. Increase your social relationships. It’s easy to bottle up and isolate yourself, but connecting is important. People who feel more connected to others have lower levels of anxiety and depression.


2. Stay active. It’s easy to get lazy and fall into old habits. Push yourself every morning and get in 15-30 minutes of exercise. Take it easy, but stay consistent. It will boost your endorphins while reducing anxiety, depression, and negative mood.


3. Practice gratitude. This one is hard when the market is falling in front of your eyes. Let’s work on being grateful for things we often take for granted—food, shelter, clothes, friends, and family. Have peace with what you have and don’t have.


4. Get organized. Your environment will directly affect your mental space. Clear off your desk and minimalize your room. Removing visual noise can often help you focus on the things you need and improve your mood and tension.


5. Touch grass. Yes. Physically touch it daily. Getting fresh air and sunlight (if you’re lucky) increases your serotonin which helps boost your mood and vitamin D, lowers your blood pressure, and brings a sense of calmness.


6. Drink plenty of water per day. Staying hydrated can help you avoid fatigue and headaches and make you more productive and focused. Fill a large bottle when you wake up, and make it a goal to drink 2-3 bottles daily.
