NFT Projects are Overlooking a Key Utility — Exposure!

Community members are fighting for validation, yet, project founders overlook it.

I think during the bull market, teams got away with not directly and genuinely engaging with their communities because of a distribution of responsibility. There were too many people in the space that engaged with each other. There was no need.

But now it’s a bear market, and the space is smaller. Should projects step in and individually engage with their community members? I think so. Is it fair? It depends on who you ask, I guess.

Project founders already have enough pressure to build a successful business. Now they have to keep their communities happy? Yup.

How?

At a minimum, follow your holders on Twitter. It looks hypocritical to push for a close-knit community without being connected to your community members.

Please don’t make them compete for your attention. No, it's not fun. It’s lazy and irresponsible. Shame on you!

Engage with their posts. Engage with their content. Retweet them. Give them the spotlight. Times have changed. Before, influencers entertained followers in a performer/audience relationship. Now, it's a two-way street, a performer/performer relationship.

Why?

Everyone in Web3 has a platform and building something. They contribute to communities while battling to get attention for themselves. Yet, project founders overlook it.

I wrote about how NFTs can help with identity crises and reprogram us to become creators.

Celebrate your community members! Not because they showed up or did something for you, but because they exist.

It’s not easy and, if done improperly, can lead to harmful effects like neglect, attention-seeking behavior, and favoritism.

But just because something is hard doesn't mean you shouldn’t do it. Your community will be better for it.
